Contemporary
careers work must be designed and managed to engage a wide and developing
network of local contacts. Yet, little attention has - so far - been given
to what this means for managing a local programme.
The more we need to involve social and youth workers and voluntary workers,
then the more important these local arrangements become.
The more we want people to see the links between their lives as workers,
as citizens and their stakeholding in the community, then the more important
the local network becomes.
